Saw the musical Chicago tonight as part of our Dallas Summer Musical series.
Man, that Fosse - Every time I see one of his choreographed shows, I just want to go put on some tap/ballet/jazz shoes and dance around. Hmmm... just need to dig all those shoes out of the closet and head down to the Lakewood studio after the China trip.
I've seen this particular musical three times and the movies and it never gets old. This road tour starred Lisa Rinna (part of the Harry Hamlin couple) and Dukes of Hazard alum Tom Wopat. Neither were stellar but they held their own. The standout was Velma, being played by the original Broadway actress who created the revival role 10 years ago -- wow! is all I have to say.
Things started off a little rocky on the way to the show -- I was a little bit in a brain fart/mental fog and had problems pointing my car in the right direction. Poor Anna -- I don't think I am driving on the next outing with her any time soon.
